Feather gradient nails

Hello beauties!

It's Monday again! Where did the weekend go?

Today I have some fun nail art to show you guys. I used some bird feathers that my father in law saved for me. He has different kinds of birds, I don't even know exactly what kind they are since he's always getting new ones. One day I saw how pretty their feathers were so I asked him if he could save me some if they fell off. Well the man ended up giving me a bunch in different sizes. I could only use the small ones though. I didn't want to tell him what I was going to use them for. I could only imagine the look on his face if I told him I wanted them for my nails lol!

Anyway here is the final look I did using the bird feathers. I took indoor and outdoor photos so you could see the feathers.
Outdoor

I did a gradient on index and pinky using Maybelline Color Show Bleached Neons in Lime Accent and Sinful Colors In The Limelight. I wanted the gradient to match the feathers. I stamped over the gradient with M Polish Cayuga using plate BP-80 from bornprettystore.com you can find the plate here.

On the middle and ring finger I used two coats of Zoya Ana. I applied some clear polish (Wet N Wild clear) to make it tacky since it was already dry, then I placed the feather on top and lightly pressed it down. I made sure all sides were stuck and then I trimmed a bit off the remaining feather. I applied a semi thick coat of seche vite to seal in the feather. Once it was fully dry I pressed the remaining bit of the feather down and filed it off using my glass file. One more coat of top coat followed by a matte top coat after it was dry.

I think that I should've used a darker base under the feathers. I feel like the final result is hard to really see them in the pictures but I really liked how they turned out in real life.

Indoor

I had to take some macros. Ignore the bubbles though!

So what did you guys think of this look? Would you or have you used feathers in a mani before? This is actually the second time I use feathers. The first time I used some that my friend @crooked_mani sent me last year. I still have some of those and should really use them again soon.

I hope you guys liked this look. Thank you for reading. See you next time :)

*No birds were harmed in the making of this mani!

Tribal Water Decals Review

**Press Sample**

Hola my friends!

I've got so more water decal nail art to share with you today. I received some tribal water slide decals from bornprettystore.com item #21536 option HOT-250 to review. I loved the designs but once you cut them out they're super tiny. I recommend you use some tweezers and good lighting!

Here is the photo from their site. I forgot to take one before cutting it.
Image bornprettystore.com (not my image)

Here is the mani I came up with. I got inspired by some of the colors used in the photo.

Zoya Teigen, Ana, Tomoko, and decals from bornprettystore.com

I used Zoya Teigen, Ana, and Tomoko for my design. Each little strip are individual decals.

To make my life easier I cut out the parts I wanted to use and put them in a little bit of water in a plate. While I applied my top coat to my base the decals were about ready to pull out and stick to my nail.

Once they were ready I started sliding them off the paper and applying it to my nail. If I didn't like the position of it I just stuck my nail in the water a bit and lifted the decal to reposition.

After I was done with one nail I dabbed off the water with a cotton swab. Added some dots and lines and top coated with Seche Vite. Repeated this process with the rest of my nails.

How about some close ups?

This mani took a bit of time and patience but I loved how it turned out! I hope you guys love it as much as I do!

Bornprettystore Diamond Glitter review

**Press Sample**

Hey lovelies!

Today's nail art is glitter placement using loose diamond glitter from Bornprettystore.com Item #20279.

I took a macro of the glitter inside the little round case it comes in.

Item #20279

Isn't it beautiful?!

I started with a base of Color Club Halo-graphic.

This is two coats plus top coat in direct sunlight. I love it!

Macro in lightbox (2 daylight bulbs)

Color Club Halo-graphic macro

I really had no idea how I was going to place the glitter. I did what I always do. Just wing it lol.

Here's the final result.

I started by dumping some glitter out onto a sheet of paper (this way it's easier to dump them back in) and picking which color glitter I was going to use. I decided on two colors.

I applied some clear polish (Wet n Wild clear) over my holo base on my middle finger. With a dotting tool I started placing the pink diamonds in a line straight down my nail. When it seemed the clear polish was beginning to dry I applied a bit more. Then I did the same thing on each side of the pink glitter with the light purple glitter.

When I reached the end of my nail I cut some of the glitters with a nail clipper in half. I placed those at the top by my cuticules and to the tip of the nail. I did this same thing with my ring finger.

On my other nails I placed them in a dotticure pattern.

I really loved the end result. There's so much you can do with this type of glitter!

Aztec Print Nails

Hi my friends!

Today's nails are aztec/tribal print featuring Zoya Dream. First of all let me tell you that these were way harder than I thought. Why do I always do this to myself? lol

Ok let's start out by showing you a swatch of Zoya Dream.

Zoya Dream
This polish is gorgeous! I don't use it enough as I would like to. Dream can be best described as a deep blue polish with holographic glitter throughout. Swatch shows two coats plus top coat. I couldn't get a photo of it in the sun but trust me it's beautiful!

This is what I did over it. Made me kind of sad that most of it got covered up though.

Design was done freehand with white acrylic paint and a bit of pink acrylic paint. I didn't have a design planned out. I kind of just went a long with it. I started out with three lines across my nails and went from there. I made lots of mistakes but the good thing about acrylic paint is that you can wash it off or scrape it off and start over. Even though my lines aren't straight and not all my nails came out the same I like the outcome.

What do you guys think of this look? Like it, not for you?

That's it for today lovelies! Thanks for reading. See you soon :)

Do you have any favorites in this collection?

Overall formulas on all were nice and dried quick.  I had issues with the jellies, the pigment seemed to be settling at the bottom, I mixed it with a toothpick and they were fine after. I let the owner know and she will be looking into that.
I love the colors in this collection. Some are unique to my collection like Avenue of the Blues, Huntingdon Valley Green and Frost & Fifth.
I had a great experience working with the owner Mya as I have had with all other indies I've worked with.

Learn more about the brand and the owner on their website in the About Us section.

Philadelphia Soul Collection is available now on Mya's website www.empressbymm.com
