#TheLacquerRing: Seafoam Green

Last month I was invited to participate in a group called The Lacquer Ring on Facebook. Some awesome ladies are in there so I was very excited to join! There's nail art prompts about every two weeks (twice a month) and I haven't been able to participate until now.

This week's prompt is seafoam green. There's so many shades that could be seafoam green so I went with something as close as possible. Let's take a look shall we!

Polish pictured: Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet

Items Used

OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI, Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
Sinful Colors Mint Apple, Seche Vite top coat, Zoya Matte Velvet top coat
Latex free make up wedge
Not pictured: glammymani vynils, clean up brush

I started off with an off-white base. I used OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI. Then I applied some single stripe vynils from Glammymani.com close to the tip of the nail. Using a latex free makeup wedge I did a gradient using Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and Sinful Colors Mint Apple. I did about 3 passes on each nail. I quickly removed the vynils and applied a coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Then I applied one coat of Zoya Matte Velvet top coat. I actually prefer the matte version of this. What do you guys think?

Laquered Up Light Up The Sky Collection Swatch & Review

I have some swatches from the Light Up The Sky 4th of July collection from Laquered Up releasing today at noon! These are gorgeous! Let's get right to it.

Midnight Sky

Midnight Sky macro

Midnight Sky is a dark blue jelly based polish filled with silver flakies throughout. Swatch shows two coats plus top coat. 

Fiery Cracker

Fiery Cracker macro

Fiery Cracker is bright red jelly based polish with silver flakies throughout. This is also two coats plus top coat.

Kapow!

Kapow is a glitter topper in a clear base filled with blue hex glitters in different sizes and circle glitters in a sort of coral shade. I did one coat brushed on middle and ring fingers and a glitter gradient on index and pinky.

Star Gazer

Star Gazer macro

Star Gazer is a star glitter topper in a clear base. This has small blue, red, and silver holo stars. I did some glitter placement over a smooshy white and blue base.

I loved these! For the jelly base polishes I recommend waiting in between coats to prevent pulling the previous coat. A thick coat of top coat over the star glitters is best to smooth them down.

Zooey can be described as a classic pink, textured pixie dust laced with a fine thread of gold and medium sized holographic hexes for an added layer of dimension.

Cece is described as a full impact green, textured pixie dust with a thin vein of gold creating a fizzy lemon-lime effect.

Bay can be described as a sky blue, textured pixie dust with fine silver and gold glitter creating a dreamy effect.

Tilly can be described as a starry grey, textured pixie dust with a small holographic glitter interwoven with a darker gunmetal.

I absolutely love this collection! They're all super pretty in the sunlight! Formula is great, some could be one coaters when doing a thicker coat. They dry fast and wear very well. They all seem to have small gold microglitter that can be seen at different angles. My favorites are Levi, Zooey and Bay! Which are your favorites? What do you guys think of this collection? Can I just say I love that this blue is named Dory! Dory is described as a vibrant cornflower blue.

Ness can be described as a softened jade green with a hint of blue to make it wearable for all skin tones. Reminiscent of sea glass found on your favorite beaches!
