Mani swap with @wifatalons

Hello my friends!

It's mani swap time! I had the chance to do a mani swap with the talented @wifatalons from Instagram. I love her manis and I love her! I had a hard time choosing especially since I had to do the mani on my cindy hand. A corner of my index nail broke on my left hand and looks awkward now. Anyway I don't think it turned out too bad.

My son loves cars so I've been wanting to use that stamp for a while. I'm sure I'll use it again soon. He loved seeing cars on my nails! My stamping didn't turn out as opaque as I hoped but I still liked this.

Items used:

Sinful Colors- No Text Red

Seche Vite Fast Dry top coat

I did two coats of No Text Red followed by one coat of Gilded Rose. I waited a bit for my base to be dry and then stamped the image one nail at a time cleaning the stamping plate after each stamp. Top coated and cleaned up around my cuticules with a brush dipped in acetone. I finished up by applying my favorite cuticule oil from Morning.star.nails

Nail wrap recreation

I have a mani that you've probably seen before. I reviewed some nail wraps from Bornpretty a couple days/weeks ago and I mentioned recreating them with stamping. Well I didn't have any stamping images close enough to the images on the wraps so I freehanded it.

Take a look at the mani. 

Base: Revlon Holographic Pearls

I did three coats of Revlon Holographic Pearls and one coat of Seche Vite. 

Then with a small detail brush and black acrylic paint I drew in some stems and leaves. With a light blue sheer polish I sort of outlined some flowers. I filled in the flowers with Shinespark Polish Dancing Dolphins (blue) and Silence Surprise (purple). Finished it with a center of MPolish Starflower and one coat of Seche Vite.

How do you guys think I did? I thought they were going to turn out way different but I'm glad I gave it a shot.

Glitter gradient

I haven't been feeling like doing any nail art lately. I've been so uninspired and as a result I've been wearing my manis much longer than usual.

So for this weekend I went with something super simple and sparkly. Nude base and glitter gradient tips. I feel like you can't go wrong with this combo.

Hmm new pose? I don't know maybe. What do you guys think?

Here are the polishes I used for this mani.

Left: OPI You Callin' Me A Lyre
Right: OPI In True Stefani Fashion

OPI You Callin' Me A Lyre is one of my favorite sheer nude polishes and OPI In True Stefani Fashion is my first go to glitter polish for glitter gradients.

I love those square glitters!

Macro OPI In True Stefani Fashion

Base coat and top coats used. I think I might need a new clean up brush soon!

I've been using miracle nail, found at Dollar Tree, as my base coat the last few days. For me it works like a peel off base coat. After two-three days my manis just pop off.

I applied one coat of miracle nail first. Then I did three thin coats of You Callin' Me A Lyre, allowing some drying time inbetween coats. I topped that off with Zoya Armor top coat. I applied In True Stefani Fashion on the tips by dabbing the brush on the nail, then I slowly dragged the polish towards my cuticule but I was careful not to drag too much far up. I did this to all my nails. Then I dabbed a bit more glitter on the very tips. I did a bit of glitter placement to get the square glitters where I wanted. One final coat of Seche Vite top coat to smooth down the glitters. A bit of cleaning around my cuticules with my clean up brush and acetone and done.

For the accent nail I used silver holo hex glitters also found at Dollar Tree. I placed them in a dotticure pattern. I had to add a matte top coat because I couldn't get the pattern to photograph well. I did one coat of Salon Perfect Matte FX.
